How God Can Use YOU Despite Your Illness… Today!

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)

As people who have only a small amount that we can do, we often feel useless. We feel like we can’t be used by God because of the pain, the mental illness, the stiffness, or what-not. We walk around, essentially, feeling worthless to God and to everyone else.

Thankfully, how we feel isn’t always truth. Not only have we been created in Jesus to do good things, but He has prepared them before the earth existed! We are useful! God can use us! What an awesome and wonderful thing!

Sometimes we have to sit and think, “HOW is God using me?” Making a list of the small things we do often helps. For example, being kind to a homeless person and treating him/her as human. One can’t imagine how people treat the homeless – like animals. Or let’s say you lend a listening ear to a friend in trouble or tithe the tiny amount you have to the Lord while being on SSDI or SSI.

There is always something you can do. Just a “good morning” can brighten some stranger’s day.

What can YOU do today to make someone feel loveable, worthwhile, etc.? He is using you for His good pleasure and you will receive a reward from Him in heaven for doing so. What a great and mighty God we serve.
We are not useless; in fact, we are very useful. God loves us as we are. We can do those little things that pop into our heads to make some else smile. And, in turn, that will make you and God smile, as well.

Prayer: Dear God, Thank You that we are Your handiwork, being created in You to do good works. Thank You that You have prepared these in advance that we should do them. Help us to do them, give us wisdom and discernment so we know what to do. We ask this is Christ’s name, Amen.
