Hello? Do You Hear Me, Lord?

hearDoes God really hear our prayers and if so then why doesn’t He seem to give relief to the pain? Karen explains.

“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer…” 1 Peter 3:12).

Have you ever seen a time when someone using a microphone doesn’t get any response from the audience, they say “Hello–is this thing on?” Ever feel that way with your prayers? You are talking –but you feel God isn’t hearing you?

Why is it that sometimes we feel the real connection of our prayers going straight to the throne of God and other times . . . not so much?

Our relationship with God is based on the truth in God’s Word. In 1 Peter 3:12, He promises to hear our prayers if we are a believer. We must by faith believe that to be true regardless if it “feels” that He is not listening.

I’m so glad our relationship with God is not based on “feelings.” With chronic illness, our “feelings” are all over the place sometimes.

The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1, “Faith is being sure of what hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

Even if we feel God isn’t very close to us, we need to have the faith that confirms He is.

The Bible is one hundred percent true and we can trust His promises. He’s never broken a single one of them. He promises us in Hebrews 13:5 “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Believe it. Trust it. Keep praying. He not only hears you, He cares and He loves you.

Prayer: Lord, help my faith to be strong even though I feel weak. Help me to trust You with everything. Amen.
