“When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to . . . . During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him,’Come over to Macedonia and help us.’ After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us t preach the gospel to them” (Acts 16; 7-10)
Have you ever been on a ride called the Tilt- A- Whirl? They are a ride that has a compartment which you sit and you’re swung to and fro; just as you think you will hit another passenger’s compartment or the outside guard rail, you’re whooshed quickly in another direction.
When I was young, this was one of my favorite rides at the annual fair. I loved the excitement, and thrill of the unexpected turns. Now that I deal with chronic illness, including vertigo, not so much!
In fact, just walking can be like being on a ride for me at times. I have also found that my spiritual life can be like a Tilt-A-Whirl. There have been times in my life that I would be serving God in one capacity, then suddenly found myself, due to my illness or another reason, being shifted by God to something entirely different.
Just like Paul, Timothy and Silas in their travels, God will often change our path and direction when we least expect it. It may seem like we are going to collide with obstacles or the unknown, but in reality, God has it all planned, and prepared ahead.
He knows exactly where our Tilt-A-Whirl will go; how He desires for us to minister in His name and He will bring us safely through it–all the while bringing glory to His Kingdom, and our Savior Jesus Christ.
With chronic illness we may often feel like our lives both physically and spiritually are whooshing out of control; the truth is, we can rest in the knowledge that our Heavenly Father is the one with His hands on the control switches, seeing us through this ride we call life.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the blessing of Your Son and the opportunities You give us all to be Your humble servants. Show us, Lord, the paths You desire for us to take; help us to accept the changes gracefully as You give them to us; grow us as we learn to trust You more. Amen.

This is Toby Mac singing “Beyond Me.” The lyrics share how the ways God works are way beyond us! There is a line that says that when we actually have the strength to do something, we don’t even understand it. Oh, how I can relate. I hope this blesses you. -Lisa
