Do you have a Christmas wish that you have yet to share with God? Diane shares hers.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” (1 John 5:14).
When you were a child do you remember one in particular gift, you really wanted for Christmas? As a child, my sister and I would look through the store magazines, thinking and wishing for a few special items.
I remember one year we both wanted this pink Barbie doll house. The waiting was like torture for us! Now, as an adult, you think back on those childhood desires, knowing they were not so very important.
However, it did make me also think–what are my grown-up Christmas wishes and desires?
Yes, I wish and pray for world peace; a hunger-less nation; love and joy to all, and most importantly the amazing gift of Christ, as the world’s Savior. But, I, as a chronically ill person, like many here, also pray for God to grant those promises He has so generously already given us in His Word;
* A pure and renewed Spirit – “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10).
* Patience while waiting – “I waited patiently for the Lord; He heard my cry” (Psalm 40:1).
Delighting in Him – “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).
Rest and peace at night (or nap time) – “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe” (Psalm 4:8).
Strength, Trust and Joy! – “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him” (Psalm 28:7).
These are just a few of my wishes and prayers I am offering up to our Heavenly Father for myself. . . and all of you here. I pray that as you think of your own grown-up Christmas wishes, that our Lord will honor and bless each of you with those also. Merry and blessed Christmas to you all, from me, Diane Kalata.
Prayer: Father, we thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus. Who was born to save us all and for the promises You grant us in Your Word, that we know You are faithful to fulfill. Amen.

What was your special gift as a child that you wanted? What about now, what is your grown-up Christmas wish/prayer?
This is Amy Grant singing “Grown Up Christmas List.” When I look at the things in my Christmas wish list these days they are so much different than even just a few years ago. This video is a nice reminder that God hears each wish, and will either answer it or give us the endurance to sustain when He does not give us our wishes. God bless, -Lisa
