Does God Really Think of Me?

think-of-meIs it hard to imagine the King of the creation thinking about you without distraction? Bridget shares.

“But as for me, I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; You are my God, do not delay” (Psalm 40:17)/

For some reason I never picture God thinking about me, unless of course I’m praying or in church. I hate to admit it, but those are the times I usually only think about God.

I’m working on spending more time with God throughout the day so He’s on my mind continually, but that’s a process.

I forget that God thinks about you and I every second of the day. We are His beloved and special creation.

Scripture says man is above the angels and animals, which is absolutely astonishing. He loves us beyond what we can comprehend. In fact nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8: 38-39). Why is it then so hard to see God thinking about us throughout the day?

Another version states it this way, “I am afflicted and needy; the Lord thinks of me. You are my helper and my deliverer; my God, do not delay” (Psalm 40:17, HCSB).

I just recovered from hip surgery and was so encouraged when I came across this passage. My heart warmed at the thought of my heavenly Father thinking about me. I think this is especially touching to those of us who deal with chronic illnesses and chronic pain.

Just knowing there is a loving God out there thinking about me encourages me to take one more step to get through the day.

Maybe you’re facing your health struggles alone. Maybe you feel isolated from the rest of your friends and family. I hope this Psalm encourages you today. You are not alone. There is a Father in Heaven who loves you, cherishes you, and thinks about you all day long. What a beautiful picture!!

Prayer: Dear God, Your love is amazing and lofty–your thoughts forever drift down to man. I am so blessed to be loved by you! Amen.

In what ways does God’s presence lift your spirits?

This is one of those very stirring illustrated videos by Dong Haeng, I think heaven will be a lot like this… Jesus saying, “It was hard, wasn’t it? Come, my child, sit down with me and talk to me.” It hope the next few minutes change your perspective on the day. God is thinking of You. He has never stopped and He never will. -Lisa

  1. What is this? Sounds like Chinese. Just bought a gadget for an electronic thing and the only instructions were in Chinese. I have had post herpetic neuralgia for thirteen years along with several other painful and debilitating things. Chinese is just more than I can manage at age 83. Love your devotionals. Just don’t care much for the music. Thank you for all you do to help get me moving every day.
