Taking From The Lord, His Best For My Blessing

Do you ever feel you fall short of deserving God’s blessings? Kerryn shares her journey in “the asking” and receiving of God’s blessings.

“God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot change it” (Numbers 23:19-20).

I need you, Lord!

“I’m right here with you, My child.”

I need you, Lord!

“I’m right beside you My precious daughter.”

I need you, Lord!

“I’m all you need My princess, My heir, My joy.”

Sometimes I feel like I’m a little toddler, asking continually for reassurance from my Abba Father. He’s sooooooo much more patient than an earthly father. Not only does He listen to me, but He responds. I may not see it, but He does.

At times it doesn’t feel like He is responding though!

However, the image I have is of a Father clearing dangers out of the way, before I get there. Other times He’s placing things just ahead of me, knowing that I can find it when I need it. Or of Him holding out His hands with something for me to take, I just need to reach out and take it.

Often though, I just want Him to place things right in my lap, before I need them.

God knows what is best for me! He wants me to grow and to learn to reach out and boldly take them for myself.

I’ve begun to realize that sometimes I feel greedy taking what is there for me. I transfer what the world has taught; that it’s rude to grab and take. However, God is offering things for me to do just that–reach out and audaciously take them. It’s much like the free gift of grace, in accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

I’m good at crying out for my needs to be met, but I’m not good at recognizing the grace, faith, hope, love, joy, rest and so much more, that He’s offering me to simply accept, as I reach out to take this from Him.

Yes, sometimes He gives before I ask and without me needing to reach out. Just like a toddler, when I fall, He is there to pick me up, comfort me, tend my wounds and love me.

I’m hearing His reminder to me today. It’s to reach out and take all that He has for me.

It is not greedy!

It is not selfish!

It is God, my Abba Father with all that He has, that is mine for the taking, as His precious child, His princess, His heir.

I’m thankful that He guides my hand, as I reach out to take boldly from Him, so that what I take is His best for my blessing.

Prayer: Lord, thank You that You want the best for me. Help me to boldly approach You to take those gifts that You’re offering me. Thank You that You’re right here beside me each step of the way, as my Abba Father. Amen.

Mercy Me sings “Bless Me Indeed” in this video. It has a bit of of beat to it and they lyrics are a nice reminder that it is okay to ask God to bless us!
