May I Touch You Jesus?

“A large crowd followed and pressed around Him. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for 12 years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind Him in the crowd and touched His cloak, because she thought , “If I just touch His clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.” (Mark 5:24-29)

May I touch You, Jesus? I am in a crowd, and I am all alone. May I press forward and touch Your clothes? In my body I keep growing worse, and suffer under the care of many doctors. I am tired and I want more of You. I long for healing and wholeness.

I know that You are always with me. I know that You hold me. Your scriptures say “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you do not fear.” (Isaiah 41:13)

I know all of these things. I do. But I want more of You. You are all that matters. I want to touch You. I want a newness in my heart. I need refreshing in my spirit. I want a new joy. Father, I give You all of me. I take my heart, my longings, my health, my pain, and I just fold them up and put them in Your Hands. Take all of me until there is nothing left but You.

“Do not cast me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me.” (Psalm 51:11-12)

Restore the joy. For that I need to abide in You.

Your Word says “Abide in Me, and I in you. I am the vine and you are the branches; He who abides in me and I in Him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:4-5)

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:19)

Prayer: Yes, I believe. Come Lord Jesus. Amen.
