My stomach hurts.
That may not seem like a big thing, but when you live daily with a chronic illness anyway, something like an additional problem like a stomachache can cause your pain level to be almost unbearable. With new symptoms and new health problems, this can also mean more doctors’ appointments and more medications.
Combine this with low or no finances, and no resources available to help, the stress alone can contribute to even more and more pain both physical and emotional.
It seems like a cruel cycle determined to drag us down. Life is not fair. . . Where is the justice?
Justice is not God displaying anger. It is God working through His people. He desires for you, child, to have fairness and compassion in your life, but that may not mean that our hearts desire will be given unto us, just because we feel we need it to be right now.
The Lord is all knowing and all wise and the Creator of the universe. He can see beyond today, when we can only see the now. He can deliver us from our sorrows if we trust and wait on Him. The Lord will give us the resources we need to cope with our problems. He can even teach us to use the pain to minister to others.
We are encouraged to trust in His timetable and in His plan, and to obey His instructions. When life seems so unfair today, dear child, turn to a loving Father who is there waiting for you to trust in Him.
Prayer: Dear Lord, please teach us to wait! I know this alone is one of the hardest lessons we as Christians have to learn in our lives, but only You can show us your Grace in your timetable. Only You can show us how to use the pain to be an instrument for You! Amen!

The song, ‘Beyond Today’
(song writer unknown)
If we could see beyond today as God can see, If all the clouds should roll away, the Shadows flee; O’er present griefs we would not fret, Each sorrow we would soon forget, For many joys are waiting yet For YOU and ME. If we could know beyond today as God doth know, Why dearest treasures pass away and tears must flow; And why the darkness leads to light, Why dreary days will soon grow bright, Some day life’s wrong will be made right, Faith tells US so. If we could see if we could know We often say But God in love a veil doth throw across our way. We cannot see what lies before, And so we cling to Him the more, He leads us till this life is o’er TRUST and OBEY If we could only see beyond today.
Have you found ways to wait upon the Lord? Can you see yourself as an example for someone else through your compassion as you trust and obey? Have you discovered ways to get ‘beyond today?’
