“Then the Lord said to Joshua, ‘See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all your armed men. Do this for six days.'” (Joshua 6:2-3)
“Are you willing to follow God’s prescription for your life day after day? Even if it feels like He has you walking in circles?” My pastor ended his sermon with those questions. I thought about that a lot. There are several areas in my life right now where I’m not seeing progression – especially physically; I feel like I am just wandering (blindly) in circles. I don’t understand or see what God is doing.
But after that sermon, I thought about all the things God had me do over the years and I realize almost all of those assignments prepared me for where I am today. I know that God has my best interests in mind. I know that His will is perfect and good (Romans 12:2). So, why is it so hard to trust Him and keep walking?
I think the biggest hurdle is that we want to see where our life is headed. We want to see the big things God will do through our lives. But God does not always show us that. Sometimes all we get is the next step. This is where trust comes in. Do we believe God controls our future? Do we believe God’s will for our lives is perfect?
I’m sure when Joshua was fighting in the battle of Jericho his men might have thought walking around the wall six times (and then seven times on day seven) was a little silly. What was God thinking? But those who believed God’s word saw Him deliver Jericho into their hands in the end. And their faith was strengthened.
Prayer: God, if I want to experience You at work in my life and see big things happen spiritually, then I have to trust You with the small steps (even if I am walking in circles). I have to trust You, God, where I am right now. Help you trust You even when my circumstances seem grim (or silly). Thank You, Lord, for using my life in a mighty way!

How timely your devotional was. Just this morning I was reading Jeremiah 13 where God tells Jeremiah to do the things with the linen belt. I was thinking about whether I would have followed what seemed such strange instructions. Just as you said, it’s a matter of trust – trust in a God who does know what He is doing. Thanks for sharing.
Bridget, your devotional is timely in my life, as well. I am so encouraged to read your thoughts.
There are times we are not even moving ( let alone moving in circles ) and trust is the most we can do. Thankfully, it is exactly what God wants us to do.
i still dont understand how to trust god with money
