Remembering We Don’t Need to Fear What Our Illness Can Do

The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)

For those of us who suffer from anxiety, be comforted! For those who are fearful for any reason, be trusting! For the Lord is with us, if we have accepted Him into your life.*

No matter what our circumstances, there is no need to worry or be afraid. If we are ill, if we are affected by severe anxiety or depression, if our finances are falling apart; whatever the circumstances, we can trust God. He promises to be with us, and help us, and He will. Fear nothing, for God is in control.

God will always provide for us. (Philippians 4:18; Matthew 6:25) Yes, for our every need. That does not necessarily mean we’ll be healed in this life; life is but a vapor that appears for a short time and fades away.

But our hope is in the eternal glory of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will give us a new heaven and a new earth, and new heavenly bodies. There will be no more pain or crying… and there will be no fear.

Hallelujah! Won’t that be wonderful? All glory and honor and praise be to our God! He has chosen us for this very thing. So, don’t fear, as God is for us! Don’t be afraid – we have a steadfast Stronghold – Christ Jesus!

Jesus, our cornerstone, and our souls are as one through the Holy Spirit. We are not alone. There are many who feel anxiety and fear. But we don’t have to. Today, let’s choose to trust.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for this truth.
