“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live.” (John 11:25, NIV)
Tears streaming down my face… I listen to the sweet notes playing… talking to my heart about an old rugged cross; melodiously plucking at my heart strings reminding me of a Savior that took my place at Calvary.
I wonder what it would have been like to live back then. To walk the same pathways He walked. I wonder what it would have been like to see the woman with the illness of bleeding as she touched the hem of His garment!
To hear His sweet and all knowing voice, yet a voice that could feel anger as He whipped the money changers as they cheated God’s people in the Temple. A voice of a God man with feelings and emotions, and a voice of compassion and care. A voice of love.
As we usher in this beautiful celebration of Easter let us remember the God man that took our place, took on His back the pain and the evil of the world…. just so we might be adopted into His Father’s Kingdom, so that we might live forever with Him in eternity.
Thank you Jesus for taking our place. Help us to never lose sight of what your Resurrection was and is really about… Amen.
